About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct or direct critical inspections of gas and steam turbines and generators using remote inspection systems
  • Perform limited-access remote visual inspections using borescope equipment
  • Provide accurate and concise interpretation of inspection results
  • Acquire, assemble, and process inspection data
  • Carry out inspections at fossil and nuclear power stations worldwide
  • Stay abreast of new technologies and test procedures
  • Continually expand inspection qualifications
  • Create inspection reports in a timely manner
  • Submit time cards and reconcile expenses
  • Complete training requirements and other business-related tasks
  • Perform borescope inspections and other inspections required by the business
  • Support work in the USA and abroad
  • Work independently in a procedure-driven environment
  • Travel domestically and internationally, including on short notice and for extended periods

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent vocational training in a mechanical or non-destructive inspection technology, or a minimum of 3 years of borescope experience
  • Borescope experience preferably on heavy-duty gas turbines
  • Must be a US citizen or legal resident of the USA
  • Must be able to travel in and out of the USA to participate in training and work globally
  • Willingness and ability to travel globally on short notice and for extended periods
  • Valid driver's license and ability to rent vehicles
  • Ability to perform borescope inspections and other inspections as required
  • Recommended experience on 7F.01-.03 gas turbine construction with borescope close-out inspections
  • Quat cleaning experience preferred
  • Knowledge of design, construction, and maintenance of steam or combustion turbines/generators used in power generation applications
  • Familiarity with Mentor Visual iQ Videoprobe and Menu Directed Inspection software
  • Experience in a customer service-focused organization
  • Strong written and verbal customer service communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, safely, and effectively with minimal direction and supervision in a procedure-driven environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and oral communication, planning, and technical skills
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and off-hours
  • Ability to travel very frequently; 80% travel required
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
