About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the commercial finance agenda for heavy-duty new unit opportunities
  • Evaluate value, profitability, cash profile, risk exposure, and execution readiness
  • Partner with commercial and business leadership on growth choices, customer strategy, and portfolio prioritization
  • Lead deal reviews, approval recommendations, and investment decisions
  • Translate commercial pipeline dynamics into financial views covering risks, opportunities, sensitivities, and trade-offs
  • Anticipate and manage commercial, financial, customer, contractual, and execution risks
  • Develop risk-adjusted deal economics and downside scenarios
  • Partner with cross-functional teams on deal structure, financial protections, and execution assumptions
  • Monitor portfolio risk trends and escalate emerging issues and concentration risks
  • Drive post-decision learning to improve bid quality and deal discipline
  • Provide finance leadership on portfolio prioritization, capacity trade-offs, opportunity timing, and resource allocation
  • Build decision frameworks balancing growth, risk discipline, customer value, execution feasibility, and enterprise outcomes
  • Partner with commercial, product, supply chain, operations, legal, and finance teams
  • Lead financial planning and analysis for orders outlook, profitability, cash profile, pipeline conversion, and commercial performance indicators
  • Drive forecast reviews, variance analysis, scenario modeling, and performance reporting
  • Provide concise CFO-level reporting on performance drivers, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing commercial finance team
  • Improve commercial finance tools, analytics, processes, and decision support

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • Significant progressive experience in commercial finance, deal support, FP&A, business finance, or related finance leadership roles
  • Demonstrated experience supporting complex commercial transactions, customer negotiations, or large capital equipment / project-based opportunities
  • Experience in the energy, power generation, industrial, infrastructure, or similarly complex long-cycle business environment
  • Strong financial modeling, forecasting, business case evaluation, and risk assessment capabilities
  • Proven ability to communicate financial and commercial risks clearly, practically, and decision-oriented to senior leaders
  • Track record of building, leading, and developing high-performing teams
  • Ability to operate simultaneously at a strategic enterprise level and at a detailed transaction level
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • MBA, CPA, CFA, or equivalent advanced finance qualification (preferred)
  • Deep commercial finance experience in power generation, energy, large capital equipment, infrastructure, or complex industrial markets (preferred)
  • Experience with long-cycle orders, customer commitments, contract economics, and portfolio prioritization (preferred)
  • Background in contract structuring, risk reviews, pricing strategy, or enterprise approval processes (preferred)
  • Strong background in scenario planning, market analytics, and executive-level decision support (preferred)
  • Experience operating in a global, matrixed environment with senior stakeholders across functions and regions (preferred)
