About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop sourcing strategy for the assigned site/P&L to achieve variable cost productivity, cash flow, and controllership goals
- Lead or support global supplier selection, qualification, development, and overall supplier management
- Manage the entire contract life cycle from Request for Proposal to supplier exit
- Evaluate and manage pivot-to-value initiatives with Sourcing teams
- Coordinate with Engineering on program schedules, cost optimization, resource allocation analysis, and VCP maximization
- Minimize GE risk exposure by ensuring customer flow-downs are passed through to suppliers
- Execute cost reduction projects through contract negotiation, process changes, and sustainable cost controls
- Collaborate with Finance to validate project and contract negotiation impacts to the general ledger
- Develop technical and market expertise in the global commodity area
- Create and enforce business policies, improve procurement processes, and optimize Sourcing resources
- Identify and implement direct material productivity ideas with Engineering teams
- Ensure fulfillment and quality requirements with Engineering, buyers, and sourcing quality engineers
- Coordinate with Logistics and Commercial teams to ensure regional capacity and minimize transportation costs
- Identify and assess supplier capabilities and manage supplier performance
- Negotiate costs while maintaining quality of goods and services
- Interface with other GE business sourcing teams and participate in companywide strategic sourcing initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 5 years of commercial experience in Sourcing, Sales, Commercial Operations, Engineering, and/or Supply Chain
- Prior sourcing experience in negotiating, identifying opportunities, selecting suppliers, sourcing strategy, and implementing contracts
- Strong quantitative and data analysis skills
- Strong project management and process improvement skills
- Ability to influence at all levels of the organization
- Process leadership experience such as CAP, Work-Out, process improvement, or quality
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business or Engineering; Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) preferred
- Prior leadership program experience, such as OMLP, FMP, CAS preferred
- CPM or APICS certification preferred
- Six Sigma training or equivalent quality training preferred
