About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the Software Quality/Compliance and Application and Infrastructure Support teams
  • Provide support to GE Vernova Nuclear Engineering teams and software products hosted for external customers
  • Manage complex issues within the functional area
  • Contribute to long-term planning and overall engineering strategy
  • Lead teams delivering quality support for existing and new applications on budget and within planned schedule
  • Execute project support and leadership within a technical area
  • Manage a medium-sized team of senior professionals and other staff
  • Influence area strategy, resource control, and policy formulation
  • Work with GEH engineering, Product Management, and Project Delivery teams on acquisition and support of engineering software and tools
  • Interpret business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services
  • Make decisions and handle complex operational, product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering tasks
  • Lead functional teams or projects and communicate difficult concepts
  • Guide others toward alternative perspectives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a STEM major (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in engineering roles
  • Role restricted to U.S. persons, including U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information, if applicable
  • Experience with engineering design tools, software quality, and infrastructure support
  • Experience managing people for software quality, application configuration and management, and infrastructure support
  • Strong project execution skills and experience
  • Experience executing large construction or engineering projects
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
  • Established project management skills
  • Willingness to travel 25% (less if located in Wilmington, NC)
  • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
