About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide day-to-day EHS direct support for sites, warehouses, service sites, field technicians, managers, contractors, and staff within the defined scope
- Serve as first-line contact for field service engineers on day-to-day EHS issues in service work
- Interpret applicable laws, regulations, procedures, and local/national EHS standards
- Prepare and review EHS documentation for products and processes
- Ensure customer EHS requirements are followed for GE Vernova employees and contractors
- Update, support, develop, and implement site procedures
- Review emergency plans and ensure materials, equipment, testing, and training are in place
- Train personnel on laws, regulations, procedures, and risk mitigation
- Support Site Managers with EHS program implementation
- Ensure emergency drills are conducted at least quarterly
- Verify equipment and tools meet internal safety standards and follow up contractor and team mobilizations
- Provide EHS site support and assessments during major operations
- Conduct audits, legal and documentation compliance reviews, and site inspections
- Manage regulatory-agency site inspections and required EHS documentation
- Oversee PPE management for staff and visitors
- Support contractor mobilization and MCE/Blades teams on regional wind farms
- Implement and maintain compliance applications including Gensuite, Comply Works, and SGS
- Review reporting systems, responsibilities, deadlines, and event closure
- Represent GE Vernova in local EHS working groups and wind regional communities
- Promote Zero Harm culture and identify trends and potential risks
- Ensure incidents are reported, investigated, classified, and managed according to requirements
- Support accident and incident investigations, root-cause analysis, injury relatedness and recordability assessments
- Implement initiatives to reduce injuries and support safer equipment and tools
- Develop and implement the yearly training and learning plan
- Liaise with contractors, medical services, emergency services, regulatory agencies, and customers on EHS matters
- Advise management on unsafe acts and conditions and follow up with field technicians at least biweekly
- Provide input for site EHS goals and objectives and meet regularly with site managers
- Coach, mentor, and train local management and safety leaders
- Support the Region EHS Manager and Service Director in regional decision-making
- Conduct EHS training and awareness sessions and facilitate periodic EHS meetings
- Share best practices across sites and ensure risk assessments/JSA are communicated before tasks begin
- Advise site managers on EHS strategy, regulatory changes, and performance improvement
- Follow up and communicate local EHS metrics
- Align local EHS activities with GE Vernova’s safety vision and regional EHS action plans
Requirements
What you’ll need- Technical background in electricity, mechanical, etc.
- Locally Professional master's degree EHS (Técnico Superior PRL with 3 technical qualifications in Ergonomic, Industrial Hygiene and Safety at Work)
- Physical condition and fitness to climb a wind turbine
- Good knowledge and understanding of local and other region rules/regulations framework, interactions between authorities
- Good knowledge of Microsoft office, web-based tools
- Technical Expert level in technical EHS specific knowledge
- Skilled level in EHS Risk Assessment, EHS Guidelines and Processes, EHS Audits and Assessments, Regulatory Compliance, Incident Management and Root Cause Analysis and EHS Management System
- Knowledge of process development and optimization, continuous improvement and lean
- Awareness level in Security and Crisis Management
- Skilled level in influence and communication, resilience and change management, performance, resources and conflict management, employee relations and team engagement, vision and goals setting and analytical problem solving
- Fluent English skills; Spanish and Catalan written and spoken
- 5 years of experience in wind field operations and/or EHS, ideally in wind business
- Availability to travel 50% of the time
- Must hold a valid driving licence
- Permanent Work Permit
- Familiar with Health and Safety and Environmental regulatory requirements
- Familiar with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certification frameworks
- GWO (Global Wind Organization) qualifications (WINDA code) desired
- Technical background as a Wind Turbine Technician considered an advantage
