About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Execute aerodynamic design and analysis activities for turbomachinery hardware and architectures across the gas power portfolio
- Support the full product life cycle, including NPI, NTI, test and validation, and fielded product support
- Perform aerodynamic analysis and design for stationary and rotating turbomachinery components
- Develop, update, and improve 1D, 2D, and 3D aerodynamic analysis methods and design approaches
- Support conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design phases
- Build, assess, and improve aerodynamic analysis models; interpret results; and prepare design review materials
- Evaluate design trade-offs, identify risks, and propose solutions
- Contribute to root cause analysis, field issue resolution, and aerodynamic design improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, performance, heat transfer, and clearance engineering teams
- Improve aerodynamic design practices, analysis methodologies, productivity, design quality, and technical rigor through digital tools, scripting, and process improvements
- Apply Lean principles and improve standard work, engineering templates, best practices, and processes
- Document technical data, analysis outputs, assumptions, and conclusions with complete, accurate, and traceable documentation and model management
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related Engineering / Science discipline from an accredited college or university
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in aerodynamic analysis and design for turbomachinery, or comparable
- Restricted to U.S. persons due to access to export-controlled technology
- Must provide proof of U.S. person status prior to employment
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must successfully complete a drug screen, as applicable
- Demonstrated experience in steady and/or unsteady aerodynamic analysis and design of turbomachinery components
- Experience with CFX, ICEM CFD, Fluent, ANSYS, or equivalent analysis platforms
- Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages such as Python, Fortran, or Visual Basic
- Master's degree in a related field with aerodynamics, thermal science, thermal and fluid engineering specialization (desired)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, project execution, verbal communication, and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a global matrix organization
- Strong customer and product mindset focused on quality, operability, and timely execution
- Demonstrated quality focus with lean, probabilistic, and data-driven problem solving
- Demonstrated ownership and accountability
- Demonstrated learning and practicing of AI/ML tools and methods
