About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead a diverse technical team of engineers and scientists
- Support next-generation LWR BWRX-300, GEN 4 reactor designs, and products, designs, and services for existing fleets and fuel
- Lead dose consequence and dispersion analyses within nuclear, radiological, and safety analysis engineering
- Oversee development of core, coolant, fuel pool, and system source terms and decay heat analyses
- Address ALARA worker-dose considerations and public protection
- Report to the Senior Engineering Manager for Reactor Safety and Reliability delivery
- Provide technical and managerial leadership for the team
- Inspire, hire, coach, and develop technical talent and depth
- Maintain relationships with internal engineering managers, business leaders, project managers, and stakeholders
- Interface with external partners, customers, the NRC, and other applicable regulatory agencies on technical issues
- Lead performance and program management of assigned work
- Ensure timely fulfillment of engineering commitments under contracts, procedures, standards, and regulatory guidelines
- Plan, organize, and manage technical activities and tasks supporting engineering deliverables
- Manage external resources and ensure deliverable quality, flexibility, and improved cost positions
- Support commercial and marketing opportunities and develop new business
- Protect GVH intellectual property rights
- Support process improvement, simplification, and design-to-cost initiatives
- Support nuclear quality requirements, including design reviews and Corrective Actions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in nuclear engineering, physics, or closely related science discipline from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in nuclear radiological analysis
- This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information; applicable final offers are contingent on ability to obtain authorization from the U.S. Government
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering or closely related discipline from an accredited college or university
- Proven ability to be a liaison between organizations operating in separate geographic locations
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results while promoting strong team performance
- Proven interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to think strategically, be creative, and move quickly
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team of highly experienced engineers and balance multiple demands and priorities
- Experience with project management, including communication, risk, planning/scheduling, and change management
- Knowledge of USNRC licensing requirements
- EPC experience and knowledge, specifically power plants
- Understanding of and experience in the nuclear industry and technology
- Experience with new builds in the power industry
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to document, plan, market, and manage programs that further business knowledge, understanding, and capability
