About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical and managerial leadership for a team supporting the BWRX-300 reactor pressure vessel and internal component design
- Report to the Senior Engineering Manager of Design Engineering
- Inspire, hire, coach, and develop technical talent and depth
- Establish working relationships with internal engineering managers, business leaders, project managers, and stakeholders
- Interface with external partners, customers, the NRC, and other applicable regulatory agencies on technical issues
- Lead performance and program management of assigned work and ensure on-time engineering commitments
- Plan, organize, and manage technical activities and tasks supporting engineering deliverables
- Drive the design, development, and maintenance of required systems
- Provide guidance on systems specifications to technical disciplines and project design partners
- Manage external resources to ensure deliverable quality, flexibility, and improved cost positions
- Support commercial and marketing opportunities and develop new business opportunities
- Protect GVH intellectual property rights
- Support process improvement, simplification, and design-to-cost initiatives
- Support quality requirements, including design reviews and corrective actions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline or relevant STEM discipline from an accredited college or university
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in engineering design and/or project leadership
- Ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information, if applicable
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
- Proven ability to be a liaison between organizations operating in separate geographic locations
- Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to lead a team of highly experienced engineers and balance multiple demands and priorities
- Project management skills including communication, risk, planning/scheduling, and change management
- Knowledge of USNRC licensing requirements
- EPC experience and knowledge, specifically power plants
- Understanding of and experience in the nuclear industry and technology
- Experience with new builds in the power industry
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to document, plan, market, and manage programs
- Experience creating an environment supporting individual creativity and group innovation and leading diverse teams
