About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee operations of Central Europe regional engineering offices
- Lead Engineering-related business-critical initiatives, dashboards, and KPIs as the accountable single point of contact
- Activate daily management across Engineering teams
- Identify process improvements and best practices; monitor KPIs and analyze data to drive operational efficiencies
- Foster an operations culture with strong daily management mechanisms, visual management, and accountability
- Partner with stakeholders to establish impactful metrics and operational rigor
- Identify, lead, and follow up on Lean events across the Engineering organization
- Hold operating-rhythm pacing calls on resource/workload management, engineering utilization, budget deviation, On Time Delivery (OTD), and Say Do Ratio (SDR)
- Lead central-team initiatives including ITM updates, TEP, PEM certification progress, and EMH updates
- Make decisions and solve complex technology or engineering problems using business-based judgment
- Align engineering processes and tools with the Engineering Management Handbook (EMH)
- Collaborate with IT to secure and maintain engineering tools and infrastructure
- Ensure compliance with quality procedures and promptly resolve non-conformances
- Champion Lessons Learned and CoPQ initiatives
- Capture and use Return of Experience (RoE) to enhance future projects
- Contribute to global engineering efficiency initiatives through knowledge capitalization
- Improve engineering subcontractor and internal/external work-package performance with Sourcing and Engineering
- Work with Sourcing on subcontractor qualification, rigor, and selection
- Enhance relationships with GE CS, universities, and engineering associations to learn about or promote new technologies
- Serve as the single point of contact for the Global Engineering Competence Center
- Champion process rigor, change, and transformation using Lean methodology
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or related field
- 10+ years in an EPC environment within T&D, Power Generation, Wind, or Oil & Gas
- Proven leadership in managing engineering teams and complex projects
- Mastery of operations procedures and strategic planning
- Proficiency with engineering management tools and software
- Hands-on experience with Lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen facilitation, 5S, visual management systems, and Daily Management Systems (DMS)
- Knowledge of strategic planning and process optimization
- Experience with EHS integration and quality assurance
- Experience with Return of Experience (RoE) management
- Willingness to travel within the region
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and global centers
- Ability to navigate complexity, develop clear actions, and drive impact
- Strong decision-making skills and ability to manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to assess tradeoffs, risk, and mitigation and optimize outcomes
- Ability to influence without direct reporting alignment
- Ability to build consensus inside and outside large organizations
- Ability to lead global teams to successful outcomes
- Ability to identify and drive process improvement, implement standard work, and utilize Lean operating principles
