About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate and provide project management oversight for engineering activities across enterprise-level projects
- Align Consulting Services and Business Units with technical and contractual specifications
- Direct completion of system studies, PFDs, P&IDs, single-line diagrams, control system architecture, datasheets, and interface control documents
- Manage technical interfaces between product lines, business units, and EPC partners
- Resolve and escalate technical interface challenges during design, installation, and commissioning
- Engage global engineering resources as required
- Develop and maintain engineering execution plans, resource allocations, schedules, and risk mitigation plans
- Collaborate with the Planning Manager for Integrated Projects on Level 1 and Level 2 commissioning plans, schedules, and readiness checklists
- Identify and mitigate technical interface risks
- Ensure designs comply with global codes, regulatory requirements, and grid interconnection standards
- Standardize cross-business engineering processes, templates, and analytical tools
- Serve as the primary technical liaison between Business Units, Consulting Services, and external partners
- Lead complex, cross-functional engineering teams in a matrixed global environment
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Power Systems Engineering
- 10+ years of relevant engineering experience in the power generation or energy sector
- Exposure to enterprise-level or multi-business projects
- Proven track record in cross-functional collaboration and integrated system design
- Strong understanding of power generation technologies, energy storage systems, and grid interconnection requirements
- Experience managing multi-discipline teams in global, matrixed organizations
- Demonstrated experience in Balance of Plant (BOP) systems, thermal cycle performance, and power transformers
- Working knowledge of medium- and high-voltage switchgear design, protection, and operation
- Familiarity with grid codes, utility interconnection requirements, and IEEE, IEC, ANSI, NERC, and NEC standards
- Ability to translate system-level protection requirements into practical, buildable designs
- Legal authorization to work in Canada or the United States, depending on the position location
- Successful completion of a background investigation and applicable drug screen
- Master’s degree in Engineering and/or an MBA (desired)
- Strong understanding of project business cases and technical impacts on objectives, risks, and financial performance metrics (desired)
- Experience operating within multicultural, regional, and cross-functional teams (desired)
- Strong analytical mindset for project risks and opportunities (desired)
- Advanced interpersonal, influencing, and team-building skills (desired)
