About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage, perform, and coordinate site activities
- Perform on-site installation of systems and equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance, repair, and calibration after installation
- Respond to emergency repairs and services for troublesome equipment
- Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives
- Write technical reports, order materials, secure quotations, and prepare job status, customer, timesheet, and expense reports
- Sign off on all implemented changes
- Drive customer satisfaction through commitment to quality
- Maintain safety standards in accordance with GE requirements
- Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance checkout for a wide range of equipment vintages
- Coach, mentor, and train team members
- Prepare technical reports for customer records and future outages
- Ensure required parts are shipped to the site
- Perform installation walk-downs to verify contractor work
- Perform aftermarket upgrades at the site level
- Travel extensively to projects and field assignments
- Perform other duties aligned with FieldCore’s vision and core values
Requirements
What you’ll need- Technical/University degree or qualifying experience OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a Field Services role
- 7+ years of experience in a field services or power generation equipment maintenance position
- Successful completion of required level III training programs is a minimum requirement
- Strong technical competence in reading and interpreting electrical/mechanical flow and instrument diagrams
- Competence in dial and laser alignment and thermal growth equipment
- Extensive travel to and from projects and various field assignments
- English proficiency required
- Experience and training on Alstom, Siemens, or other OEM equipment
- Extensive Field Engineering Services experience
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Strong oral and written interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
- Strong business acumen and ability to sell GE products to the customer
- Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments
