About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform life extensions, repairs, and inspection-related service activities at customer sites
Perform onsite machining, NDT, blading, winding, critical welding, and generator diagnostics
Support maintenance service, preventive and remedial maintenance, maintenance facilities, and field services engineering
Resolve issues using established procedures and consult supervisors or senior team members when outside defined parameters
Collaborate with others to solve issues
Develop customer relationships and serve as the interface between the customer and GE
Exchange technical information, ask questions, and check for understanding
Document, plan, market, and execute programs

Requirements

What you’ll need

Diploma or Bachelor of Electrical/Electronic Engineering
Minimum 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in maintenance of High Voltage (HV) electrical equipment
Level 3 and/or Level 4 competencies for more 4 (four) AIS/GCB technology
Coach 3 & Coach 4 Level for AIS/GCB technology
Relevant experience in testing and commissioning of protection relays, interpreting electrical schematic diagram and hi-pot testing certified will be an advantage
Knowledge of Grid Products such as Gas Insulated switchgear (GIS), Air Insulated switchgear (AIS), Power Transformers, protection relays and Substation system will be an advantage
Familiar with testing equipment (i.e contact resistance, insulation resistance, timing test set, SI test set and Hipot test set)
Ability to speak, read, interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals and report in English
IT savvy and have knowledge of MS Office
Have a driving license
Willing to Travel locally & overseas
Unyielding commitment to EHS, Integrity and GEV values
Local electrical license will be preferred but not required
This role requires basic experience in the Services & On Site Services
Knowledge level comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma with relevant experience)
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
