About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Commission and service installed HVDC and FACTS products in the field, potentially supervising subcontractors
  • Coordinate and work onshore and offshore on projects, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met
  • Provide technical support to customers and internal GE Vernova functions on FACTS and/or HVDC transmission projects
  • Prepare on-site activities in coordination with customers and project management
  • Prepare documentation and site-related reports
  • Serve as point of contact for health and safety issues within the area of responsibility
  • Attend on-site customer meetings as required
  • Lead the on-site portion of multi-year service contracts supporting customer installations in different Central European countries
  • Spend approximately 80% of working time on project sites, including international travel, and 20% working from home

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualification in the field of electrical engineering or power engineering, preferably with further training as a technician
  • Significant experience in an equivalent position with onsite & field service experience
  • Technical understanding of high voltage components, power electronics/electrical networks
  • Availability to travel up to 75% nationally and internationally
  • Fluent Polish and English language skills
  • Experience on drives, FACTS or HVDC equipment (valves + control + Protections) preferred
  • Technical knowledge and site experience in commissioning of protection relays preferred
  • Technical knowledge and site experience in troubleshooting, with the use of network recorders and/or analyzers preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Supervision of on-site teams
  • Strong customer management skills, especially on site during an incident
  • Ability to work in a team and to share knowledge and experience with colleagues
  • Understanding of a matrix-organized, international work environment
  • Ability to strictly apply EHS rules during site incidents or under pressure from the customer
