About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the Level 2 (L2) repair definition and repair approval process for blade damage across the global fleet
  • Create, maintain, and continuously improve Work Instructions (WDI), Service Instructions (SI), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for repairs
  • Incorporate field feedback and lessons learned into technical documentation
  • Own the Laminate Repair Tool, driving its development, validation, and ongoing enhancement
  • Work with deployment and regional execution teams to roll out improved repair methods
  • Ensure successful field implementation and adoption across all regions
  • Drive continuous improvement and Kaizen initiatives to improve repair quality, reduce cycle time, and lower cost
  • Partner with blade structures engineering, materials engineering, test labs, sourcing, field services, and suppliers
  • Develop and validate repair solutions meeting fleet performance requirements
  • Build, attract, develop, and retain a high-performing engineering team
  • Create a culture of empowerment, coaching, and continuous talent development
  • Prioritize team resources according to SQDC principles
  • Ensure sharing of best practices, tools, and lessons learned across repair engineering and fleet services

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Materials Engineering from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in composite structures, structural repair engineering, or blade engineering
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Ability to synthesize data from testing, field performance, and manufacturing
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional and regional teams in a global, matrixed environment
  • Demonstrated experience developing technical repair documentation (WDI/SI/SOP or equivalent) and repair approval processes
  • Familiarity with composite repair techniques, NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) methods, and blade structural analysis
  • Experience facilitating Kaizen events or leading Lean/Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to convey complex technical trade-offs to diverse stakeholders across regions
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
