About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and analyze electrical components throughout the gas power product portfolio
  • Perform thermal, stress, and modal analysis of components within gas turbines, steam, generators, aeroderivative, and powerplant accessory systems
  • Conduct testing and validation of new and existing designs and analyze post-test data
  • Create design documentation, including drawings, specifications, layouts, and diagrams
  • Prepare functional specifications based on sizing studies, contracts, regulatory codes and standards, and reference designs
  • Support engineering qualification activities for GEV and supplier production
  • Support root cause analysis and develop corrective actions to improve product reliability, quality, and performance
  • Support supplier design evaluations and disposition technical offers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, interpret Single Line Diagrams, and develop wiring, loop, instrumentation, and schematic diagrams
  • Apply electrical design principles to adapt and improve overall system design
  • Take technical ownership of electrical hardware and systems
  • Work within teams for project execution and process improvement
  • Participate in peer and design reviews and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and global sites
  • Solve complex analytical problems
  • Comply with R&D processes, manage milestones, and seek peer validation
  • Support tendering bids with specific calculations and recommendations
  • Embrace Lean principles and drive continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • B.S. in Electrical / Power Systems Engineering
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization for the United States both now and in the future
  • Strong focus on safety, quality, execution, and process rigor
  • Open-minded, self-motivated, and empowered to challenge thinking to dream big and smart risks
  • Demonstrated capability in collaborating within a team and customers to create an inclusive environment
  • Ability to rapidly shift priorities based on business needs
