About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define, control, and communicate global processes for manufacturing assets, including facility integration, acceptance testing, machine health checks and calibrations, preventive maintenance plans, spare parts strategy, and technical and technology training
  • Validate design specifications and shop-floor application of new processes with EHS, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering, Quality, Materials, Industrialization, and Sourcing
  • Develop and implement reliability improvement strategies using FMEA and Root Cause Analysis
  • Collaborate with maintenance, operations, engineering, and safety teams to design and implement preventive and predictive programs
  • Establish equipment reliability KPIs and track progress against targets
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce equipment downtime and improve quality processes
  • Lead investigations into failures and chronic issues, identify root causes, and implement long-term solutions
  • Provide technical support for asset management, including equipment life-cycle analysis and spare-parts optimization
  • Participate in designing and installing new equipment and implementing processes, ensuring reliability through Design for Reliability
  • Develop strategy for the area of responsibility, control resources, and influence policy formulation
  • Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services
  • Lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and complexity
  • Coach and influence a dotted-line organization of factory technical leads across the supply chain
  • Serve as a focal point for new technology introductions, asset transfers, and new process introductions, including lead time, technology selection, fixturing, process, control plans, and manufacturing-asset qualifications
  • Drive SQDC through analytical skills, lean methodology, and the “One Product One Process” principle

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 10 years of industrial experience in manufacturing or quality OR a High School Diploma / GED with at least 15 years of industrial experience in manufacturing or quality
  • 5 years of generator manufacturing experience
  • Strong knowledge of engineering concepts and quality processes
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, drawings, and schematics
  • Project Management skills and experience
  • Willing and able to travel approximately 25% globally
  • Experience working cross functionally and co-leading implementation of manufacturing systems supporting Next Generation Supply Chain migration globally across the Generator Value Stream
  • Experience utilizing Design for Six Sigma methodology (DFSS)
  • Ability to measure existing machine capability, analyze process requirements, and develop strategies to maintain or improve process yield
  • Ability to deploy lean principles, including Transformation Planning, 3P, Total Productive Maintenance, Standard Work, Kaizen, Problem Solving, and Poka Yoke
  • Managed a cost center or P&L with a solid understanding of operational metrics
  • Direct leadership experience of professional and production employees
  • Ability to coach and influence others and lead small teams
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact
  • Ability to coordinate and manage several projects simultaneously
