About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead a small team building GE Vernova’s external story and reputation as an indispensable partner in the global energy transition
- Oversee content creation and strategies positioning GE Vernova in critical industry conversations
- Direct proactive and reactive media relations for the Power, Electrification, and Wind segments
- Manage media efforts and develop communications strategies reflecting the breadth of the business portfolio
- Create and execute proactive and reactive communications plans with business leaders and central communications teams
- Create and distribute press releases, stakeholder preparation materials, talking points, fact sheets, and other external communications
- Build and maintain relationships with key global industry and business media reporters
- Translate complex market dynamics into clear narratives reflecting GE Vernova’s market position and performance
- Align communications strategy with business objectives, commercial execution, and growth opportunities across priority regions
- Manage issue and crisis communications, identifying emerging risks and developing reputation-protection strategies
- Support planning and execution of major commercial events including CERA Week, COP, and CIGRE
- Advise senior leaders across business segments on launches, customer announcements, and external narratives
- Strengthen communications processes, standard work, and operating rhythms
- Plan and maintain customer storytelling calendars covering customer successes, innovation, and thought leadership
- Monitor domestic and international news cycles, particularly those related to business priorities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, or related field from an accredited university or college
- 15+ years’ experience, ideally in a multinational company environment
- Genuine passion for the energy industry and the future of energy
- Strong written communications skills with the ability to communicate in a language that focuses on business benefits and customer outcomes
- Demonstrated experience in the energy, industrial, or infrastructure sectors
- Strong understanding of the market, competitive landscape, and key industry drivers
- Excellent understanding of media relations
- Proven track record of successful media relations work across related technologies
- Experience working with multinational C-suite executives
- Ability to work well within a senior-level communications team environment
- Experience working with large-cap customers and partnering on announcements, launches, and industry events
- Experience owning and managing presence at large industry, international events
- Experience working with corporate communications on a wide range of energy relations issues and crisis communications
- Experience managing agencies
- Creative thinking and ability to generate new ideas and leverage available tools
- Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel internationally and regularly work outside standard business hours
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
