About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers specializing in control and protection, automation, HV and LV power systems, and verification and validation
  • Ensure solutions meet customer, contract, quality, and regulatory requirements
  • Provide technical leadership, advice, and assistance to project teams, including tendering, commissioning, service, and third parties
  • Support and deputize for the Project Engineering Manager
  • Plan and progress design engineering activities, including testing and commissioning
  • Monitor and manage engineering budgets, project documentation, risks, design reviews, quality, and change control
  • Support improvement initiatives and cost-out plans with other business units
  • Act as the primary technical and project interface for customers, suppliers, NPI, Product Care, and other stakeholders
  • Ensure activities are executed efficiently, cost-effectively, and in accordance with contract, quality, and safety requirements
  • Manage project execution according to schedule, cost, and contract requirements
  • Lead, motivate, mentor, and coach technical personnel
  • Solve problems and take responsibility for control, protection, and automation of HVDC solutions
  • Collaborate across functions and support continuous competency development

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience in an engineering and project leadership environment
  • Experience in application engineering in controls engineering, protection, automation, HVDC, or grid-connected systems
  • Experience in project execution of HVDC or similar systems
  • Experience designing and integrating systems for complex multidisciplinary projects
  • Experience with controls and protection of HV and LV systems
  • Experience leading large multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to multitask on varied tasks to strict timelines
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
  • Customer-centric mindset and ability to translate customer needs into profitable business solutions
  • Minimum degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Project Management, or equivalent degree with suitable industry experience
  • More than 9 years' experience in Control & Protection systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to identify and manage organizational risks
  • Proven team management and leadership skills with a strong technical background
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure while maintaining safety, quality, and engineering integrity
  • Flexibility with working hours and willingness to travel globally
