About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform plant thermal hydraulic evaluations and analyses for ECCS LOCA, Containment, HELB, Fire Safe Shutdown, Annulus Pressurization Loads, and RIPD analyses
- Apply two-phase thermal hydraulic analysis techniques
- Support reload and design applications for operating and new BWR plants, including ABWR and BWRX plants
- Take responsibility for fuel project activities including reload analyses, methods implementation, power uprates, new fuel introductions, and safety analysis support for emergent fuel issues
- Work in cross-disciplinary settings with mechanical design, core design, licensing, systems design, and affiliated organizations
- Prepare, document, and present technical data to internal and external customers
- Provide technical mentoring, procedure development, and knowledge management support
- Develop and deliver training courses for external commercial requests and internal audiences
- Lead team process improvements to drive speed and simplification
- Ensure work meets regulatory rules, customer requirements, and business quality assurance standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical, or similar) from an accredited college or university
- 3+ years experience of performing Thermal Hydraulic analysis
- Experience in either ECCS LOCA, Containment, HELB, Fire Safe Shutdown, Annulus Pressurization Loads, and Reactor Internals Pressure Difference analyses
- M.S. Degree in Nuclear Engineering with experience in T/H modeling as applied to nuclear reactor systems
- Knowledge of reactor licensing requirements
- Experience with BWR/PWR T-H systems codes such as TRACG, RELAP & TRACE
- Experience in Best Estimate methodology development (e.g., TRACG LOCA)
- Experience with Best Estimate and CSAU applications
- Programming experience with either C#, FORTRAN, or PYTHON
- Demonstrated high energy and the ability to energize others
