About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Execute power curve simulations according to design practice
- Support technical and design reviews and the commercial release process
- Perform model validation and verification
- Apply atmospheric science and test data knowledge to assess simulation accuracy and precision
- Apply IEC test standards and GE-specific test requirements
- Execute contractual power performance tests from planning through final reporting
- Analyze power curve test data, including MPPT, terrain assessment, and risk-of-failing calculations
- Contribute to root cause analyses of field performance anomalies
- Apply turbine controls and operability knowledge to turbine operation
- Maintain and improve analysis tools
- Contribute to lessons learned, best practices, and standardized engineering workflows
- Work with cross-functional teams and report to the Power Performance Leader within Wind Engineering
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of time
- Experience with IEC-based power curve testing or power curve simulation in a wind energy context
- Background in fluid mechanics and/or atmospheric sciences
- Experience with analysis tools such as MATLAB or Python
- Familiarity with IEC standards and industry best practices for wind turbine performance testing
- Background in Systems Engineering or System Simulation disciplines
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
