About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer technical inquiries, questions, and communications related to assigned projects.
  • Drive the integration of lessons learned into design engineering organizations to prevent recurring issues.
  • Provide technical guidance to Project Management and Applications Engineering.
  • Lead Customer Kick-Off Meetings (CKOMs) and/or Design Liaison Meetings (DLMs) with customers and/or EPC design representatives.
  • Review contract documentation and communicate project requirements to design functions through internal documentation systems.
  • Evaluate the financial and schedule impacts of customer-requested scope changes through Cost & Cycle Estimates (CCEs).
  • Monitor design progress and resolve technical issues.
  • Track engineering schedules and take preventive action to avoid delays or late customer deliverables.
  • Monitor the engineering budget and provide quarterly Estimates at Completion (EACs) to Finance.
  • Provide technical support to engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, suppliers, and installation personnel.
  • Present periodic project review slides to senior management, highlighting risks and action plans.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or a related discipline) from an accredited college or university.
  • Significant experience in Engineering, Design Engineering, Field Engineering, and/or Project Management in a related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability and willingness to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership-level verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required (less than 10%).
  • Preferred: Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated customer-facing experience.
  • Preferred: Ability to navigate between complex technical issues and sensitive commercial matters.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated creativity and problem-solving skills.
  • Preferred: Ability to manage the resolution of broad technical issues and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Preferred: Experience and/or knowledge of product engineering, manufacturing, assembly, installation, and/or testing.
  • Preferred: Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Demonstrated alignment with and adherence to GE Vernova’s ways of working.
