About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead projects for the Application & Project Engineering team from competitive proposals through project execution
  • Provide technical guidance to manufacturing, sourcing, project management, and external customers
  • Execute OTR project engineering with Houston and Hungary teams to develop technical solutions and customizations
  • Create and approve Bills of Material from product Features and Options
  • Develop customer drawing packages incorporating requested customizations
  • Review build books and build plans and prepare ECO markups to update BOMs
  • Prepare supplier technical specifications and approve supplier drawing releases
  • Provide product clarification and resolve customer, installation, commissioning, manufacturing, and testing issues
  • Prepare customer meeting presentations and participate in customer kick-off meetings
  • Lead design tollgate reviews with Chief Engineers
  • Review design and risk mitigation needs and communicate modifications to manufacturing and sourcing teams
  • Present technical design reviews and identify IP and position paper ideas
  • Execute T&RS compliance items and ensure compliance with local codes and regulations
  • Identify project savings and parts-utilization opportunities
  • Create new parts with the Part COE team as needed
  • Attend project meetings and provide technical support for engineering release, HOM, CKOM, PSE handover, and customer meetings
  • Train less experienced engineers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field
  • Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience related to bills of materials, manufacturing, mechanical engineering, and product design
  • Minimum of two (2) years of Gas Turbine related work experience with strong understanding of gas turbines based packages including auxiliary systems and balance of plant equipment
  • Minimum of four (4) years of focused customer service and fulfillment experience
  • Master's degree in Engineering
  • Lean mindset and application of Lean tools to improving business operations
  • Expertise in Gas Turbine & Power augmentation, Gas Turbine Installation and Foundations, Fuel systems design, Hydraulic systems design, Lube oil systems, and TR&S compliance, codes & standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a minimum of eight (8) years of exposure to power generation equipment manufacturing or packaging
  • Customer advocacy and process improvement orientation
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvement
  • Proven track record of delivering results in a complex and dynamic business environment
  • Ability to interface effectively with engineering organization, customers, and partners
  • Problem-solving and systems-thinking ability
