About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for customers on urgent gas turbine hot gas path challenges
  • Troubleshoot high-stakes technical problems in real time and provide actionable solutions
  • Diagnose issues and conduct root cause analyses
  • Interface with design, commercial, field, and supplier teams to resolve technical issues
  • Implement effective, cost-efficient solutions aligned with customer needs and business objectives
  • Build relationships with internal interfaces and proactively address customer requirements
  • Prepare and present technical information to customers and senior leadership
  • Produce Technical Information Letters and other written communications with instructions on technical issues, risks, and resolutions
  • Participate in Lean Action Workouts and lead Kaizen projects
  • Improve service processes, quality, accuracy, efficiency, and responsiveness
  • Travel to customer sites for planned and unplanned outages, technical reviews, and critical inspections
  • Collaborate with design and development teams to introduce new products and technologies
  • Support reliable and efficient power-generation innovation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials Science Engineering, or related engineering field from an accredited college or university
  • 3+ years of experience in Design, Repair, Testing, Manufacturing, or Operations
  • Ability to travel globally to customer gas turbine sites and offices for root cause investigations, critical outage inspections, and customer communications; typically <5% travel
  • Ability and willingness to support off-hours occasionally for customer issue resolution
  • Eligibility to work legally in the United States
  • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
  • Desired: 6+ years’ experience in design, repair, manufacturing, or maintenance of gas turbine hot gas path systems
  • Proven mentoring skills and commitment to coaching and continuous improvement
  • Strong multitasking and project delivery abilities
  • Demonstrated leadership and sound decision-making under pressure
  • Clear communication of complex technical information across organizational levels
