About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage project management activities for GE Grid Services across North America
  • Manage Grid Services projects to ensure execution meets Safety, Quality, Delay, and Cost standards while maximizing customer satisfaction
  • Provide requirements to Field Leaders to maintain Field Specialists’ planning
  • Provide project management support to Field Specialists with a 24/7 technical support team
  • Manage customer communications, meetings, reviews, FATs, and conference calls
  • Improve project management processes, including project preparation and service contracts
  • Ensure project profitability remains aligned with the tender-stage budget
  • Manage new-installation and service-contract projects
  • Review customer purchase orders against GE offers during transfer meetings to identify risks and contractual deviations
  • Conduct customer kick-off meetings to define roles, responsibilities, and contractual commitments
  • Issue variation orders
  • Ensure availability of required equipment and software
  • Complete project-related administrative tasks
  • Produce project post-mortems
  • Follow up on project-execution governance, including kick-off meetings, project reviews, and post-mortems, in collaboration with Project Managers
  • Organize monthly project reviews for major projects
  • Work within GE Renewable Energy, a provider of renewable energy, grid, storage, solar, wind, hydro, and digital services solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Engineering or Operations degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
  • 10 years of experience in Project Management
  • Knowledge of GE Grid products and Project Management Handbook (PMH)
  • Experience in an innovative Service environment
  • Coordination of different teams and cultures
  • Strong knowledge of Project Management processes
  • MS Suite, MS Project, SAP, or similar systems and software
  • Bilingual French and English
  • Strong process and operational experience
  • Strong Industrial Service business and financial acumen
  • Technical understanding of the Services business
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
  • Experience in Project Manager roles desirable
  • Previous work experience in a matrix organization desirable
  • Recognized leadership skills and experience building, working with, and leading international operations teams in a global and matrix environment
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, written and oral
