About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify and qualify new leads and opportunities
- Nurture relationships with existing and prospective client accounts
- Consult with customers and provide technical expertise and recommendations
- Provide GridOS DERMS product-line overviews and conduct product demonstrations
- Understand and document customers’ technical, process, policy, and regulatory challenges
- Identify suitable use cases and GridOS DERMS solution offerings
- Articulate customer requirements, trends, and issues to Product Management
- Define and assess value-added technology-enabled services leveraging the GridOS DERMS Platform
- Work with Account Managers to meet customer needs and deliver proposals on time
- Provide technical input for RFPs, RFQs, and government programs
- Identify proposal-related Product Development scope outside the current roadmap
- Contribute technical information to customer-facing marketing campaigns
- Monitor competitive products and identify use cases
- Attend trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events
- Develop and maintain customer-ready presentations at multiple technical levels
- Communicate customer-derived technical insights internally
- Provide feedback to Account Managers, Product Management, and Research and Development teams on customer feedback, product bugs, and quality defects
- Work cross-functionally with partners, US and Canada Account Managers, Commercial Operations, Marketing and Communications, and Product Management teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or a related field with a focus on Power Systems
- Minimum 5+ years of utility industry knowledge with a combination of technical sales and technical writing experience in the energy market
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Willingness to travel up to 25% based on business needs
- Familiarity with emerging energy industry trends, regulations, and implications for utility customers in DER management, microgrids, distribution planning, SCADA, and asset management
- Knowledge of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs), interconnection and interoperability standards such as IEEE 1547
- Knowledge of utility communication protocols including IEEE 2030.5 (SEP2), OpenADR, and related utility-to-DER integration technologies highly desirable
- Familiarity with DER aggregation, virtual power plants (VPPs), demand response programs, inverter-based resources, and DER integration use cases considered a strong asset
- Client management skills to articulate the strategic and technical value of the GridOS DERMS platform
- Ability to complete work on time and within project deadlines
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences and provide high-level solution summaries to the C-suite
- Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
