About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Join the Pre-Sales team focused on enabling sales and driving strategic growth for GridOS DERMS customers and partners
  • Deliver end-to-end business and technical solutions to GridOS DERMS customers and partners
  • Work cross-functionally with partners, US and Canada Account Managers, Commercial Operations, Marketing and Communications, and Product Management
  • Identify and qualify new leads and opportunities and nurture existing and prospective client relationships
  • Consult with customers and provide technical expertise and recommendations
  • Provide GridOS DERMS product-line overviews and conduct product demonstrations
  • Understand and document customers’ technical, process, policy, and regulatory challenges
  • Identify suitable use cases and GridOS DERMS solution offerings
  • Articulate customer requirements, trends, issues, user stories, capabilities, and functional/non-functional requirements to Product Management
  • Define and assess value-added technology-enabled services leveraging the GridOS DERMS Platform
  • Work with Account Managers to meet customer needs and deliver proposals on time
  • Provide technical input for RFPs, RFQs, and government programs
  • Identify proposal-related Product Development scope outside the current roadmap and flag it to Product Management
  • Contribute technical information to customer-facing marketing campaigns
  • Monitor competitive products, identify use cases, and channel market response and feedback
  • Attend trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events
  • Develop and maintain customer-ready presentations at multiple technical levels
  • Transfer customer-derived technical insights internally
  • Provide customer feedback, product bug, and quality defect information to Account Managers, Product Management, and Research and Development teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or a related field with a focus on Power Systems
  • Minimum 5+ years of strong utility industry knowledge with a combination of technical sales and technical writing experience in the energy market
  • Remote role based in the US
  • Up to 25% travel required based on business needs
  • Familiarity with emerging energy industry trends, regulations, and implications for utility customers in DER management, microgrids, distribution planning, SCADA, and asset management
  • Knowledge of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs), interconnection and interoperability standards such as IEEE 1547, and industry communication protocols including IEEE 2030.5 (SEP2) and OpenADR is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with DER aggregation, virtual power plants (VPPs), demand response programs, inverter-based resources, and DER integration use cases is a strong asset
  • Ability to attract new clients and expand existing relationships by articulating the strategic and technical value of the GridOS DERMS platform
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated collaborator able to work independently as a researcher
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences and provide high-level solution summaries to the C-suite
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
