About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform plant thermal-hydraulic safety analysis using two-phase thermal-hydraulic analysis techniques
  • Support reload and design applications for operating and new BWR plants, including ABWR and BWRX plants
  • Perform technical evaluations and analyses for Emergency Core Cooling System Loss of Coolant Accidents, containment response and impact, hydrodynamic and pressurization loads, and fuel performance
  • Prepare, document, and present technical data to internal and external customers
  • Ensure work complies with regulatory rules, customer requirements, and business quality assurance standards
  • Participate in process improvement, New Product Introduction, team automation, and company initiatives
  • Collaborate with mechanical design, core design, licensing, systems design, and other affiliated teams to identify customer solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical, or similar) from an accredited college or university
  • 1+ year performing Thermal Hydraulic Analysis
  • Eligibility to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information, if applicable
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Experience in thermal-hydraulic modeling as applied to nuclear reactor systems (desired)
  • Experience in a BWR and/or PWR environment (desired)
  • Experience with T/H system codes such as TRACG, TRACE, RELAP, or RETRAN (desired)
  • Experience with programming (C#, FORTRAN, PYTHON) (desired)
  • Prior Nuclear Engineering internship/co-op experience (preferred)
