About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare, plan, lead execution, and close out complex planned and emergent steam turbine and generator outages
- Support CSM in outage event preparation and execution from start to finish
- Develop outage schedules and plan TFA/craft labor, tooling, and costs
- Manage customer pre- and post-outage meetings and mobilization planning
- Own onsite execution as site lead with large teams
- Ensure Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost expectations are met
- Manage job cost tracking, productivity, execution risk, and FMEA
- Improve on-time delivery, outage cost, productivity, and labor-hour pacing
- Support project quotation development, scope definition, site condition checks, and preliminary safety and risk analysis
- Support turbine, generator, and auxiliary-system shutdown, start-up, running, and performance testing
- Prepare, review, store, and deliver field, quality, EHS, and customer outage documentation
- Use web systems for labor, tooling, vendor management, planning, and forecasting
- Respond promptly to forced outages and emergency events and investigate or escalate site issues
- Support technical communication with customer staff during outage execution
- Improve and simplify existing processes
- Help drive Steam Power strategies and organizational core values
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in science/engineering with 4 years of experience in the power generation industry, or HS diploma/GED with 8+ years of applicable experience and demonstrated success/knowledge in steam turbine or generator maintenance
- English proficiency required
- Field Engineer or TFA graduate
- Strong project management and planning skills
- PC proficiency and web applications, including advanced Excel skills
- Strong technical and maintenance knowledge of gas/steam turbines and generators
- Proficiency in MS Project to build and maintain schedules
- Experience performing TEAMS or STEP inspections
- Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required by field assignments
- Ability and willingness to travel 40%-50% of the time
