About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Contribute to implementation of MES solutions using SCADA, ADMS, DNAF, and OMS software suites
  • Own technical deliverables throughout the full project lifecycle
  • Participate in architecture, design, and functionality decisions to keep projects on budget, on schedule, and aligned with customer expectations
  • Work with clients to understand needs and develop organization-specific strategies through site assessments
  • Make recommendations on workflow, applications, interfaces, reports, testing, and customer uploads
  • Ensure go-live readiness and provide go-live support and post-live checkups
  • Collaborate with internal team members and clients to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Implement new functionality in DMS, DTS, and EMS/DTS/Oil and Gas and Distribution modeling applications
  • Represent the Software Center of Excellence and promote high-quality design and development practices
  • Potentially lead a junior team
  • Develop strong customer relationships and serve as the interface between customers and GE
  • Explain technical information to others

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Power Systems or a STEM major plus at least two (2) years of development or project delivery experience in a related field, or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a STEM major
  • Work and/or academic experience in the power systems area
  • Excellent programming skills in C++, Java, or another related language
  • Knowledge of Perl, PowerShell, and SQL scripting, including MSSQL and/or T-SQL
  • Knowledge and experience with electric utility industry practices
  • Strong knowledge of customer perspective and needs
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
