About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform on-site transformer services, including new unit installation, corrective maintenance, and unit upgrades
- Assist team leaders with on-site crew members and subcontracted services
- Apply client-specific processes and procedures
- Attend daily morning tailboards to outline daily activities
- Identify and report EHS/HSE concerns
- Assist with operation and control of vacuum processing rigs and associated equipment
- Assist with or oversee field testing and commissioning of units
- Participate in developing and improving standard procedures for transformer installation and maintenance
- Provide technical assistance in preparing and submitting technical documents
- Participate in developing inspection criteria with external and internal customers
- Record and report using conventional and digital tools
- Provide situational leadership and organizational support, especially during emergencies
- Travel regionally and nationally across North America
- Work on long-term installation projects with rotational schedules of four weeks on site and one week at home
- Support emergency call-out services for customers’ year-round 24x7 production requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Ability and willingness to travel up to 80% of the time
- Minimum of 2 years of field experience with specific mechanical and/or electrical experience related to power transformers or other Electrical Balance of Plant (eBOP) equipment
- Mechanical experience via technical training institutes and/or military services with proven field experience encouraged
- Leadership experience
- Effective communication skills
- Customer-oriented; ability to build and maintain good customer relationships
- IT/computer savvy; experience with multiple software applications
- Ability to understand electrical schematics and one-line diagrams
- CDL license preferred, or ability to obtain
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
- Associate’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical field with specialization in Power Transformer or HV/MV apparatus or Electrical Engineering preferred
