About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform on-site transformer services including new unit installation, corrective maintenance, and unit upgrades
  • Assist team leaders with on-site crew members and subcontracted services
  • Apply client-specific processes and procedures
  • Attend daily morning tailboards to outline daily activities
  • Identify and report EHS/HSE concerns
  • Operate and control vacuum processing rigs and associated equipment
  • Assist with or oversee field testing and commissioning of units
  • Develop and improve standard procedures for transformer installation and maintenance services
  • Provide technical assistance in preparing and submitting technical documents
  • Develop inspection criteria with external and internal customers
  • Maintain records and reporting using conventional and digital tools
  • Provide situational leadership and organizational support, especially during emergencies
  • Travel regionally and nationally across North America
  • Support emergency call-out services for year-round 24x7 customer production requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 80% of the time
  • Minimum of 2 years of field experience with specific mechanical and/or electrical experience related to power transformers or other Electrical Balance of Plant (eBOP) equipment
  • Mechanical experience via technical training institutes and/or military services with proven field experience encouraged
  • Leadership experience
  • Effective communication skills
  • Customer-oriented ability to build and maintain good customer relationships
  • IT/computer savvy and experience with multiple software applications
  • Ability to understand electrical schematics and one-line diagrams
  • CDL license preferred, or ability to obtain
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
