About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as technical leader/manager for customer project engineering activities
- Develop scopes of work, plan schedules, and monitor engineering activities
- Interface with Proposal Management, Cost Estimating, Partners, Customers, Product Engineering, Sourcing, and subcontractors
- Own engineering execution of Balance of Plant-scoped projects from contract signature through the end of contractual obligations
- Manage cross-functional Engineering teams and contract risks and opportunities
- Provide technical guidance to Project Management and internal engineering teams
- Review customer specifications and communicate contract and project requirements to design functions
- Evaluate financial and schedule impacts of customer-requested scope changes
- Support Engineering, Sourcing, Vendors, and Installation teams to ensure equipment meets customer requirements and business objectives
- Enforce and improve quality procedures
- Capture issues and lessons learned
- Collaborate across a matrix organization with global engineering departments, project managers, quality, sourcing, logistics, scheduling, customers, partners, EPCs, and subcontractors
- Lead total project solutions across product lines when assigned
- Serve as global technical project focal point and partner with project managers in customer/EPC meetings
- Drive requirement flow-down across GT, ST, Generator, and BOP product lines
- Resolve technical project issues at the system level
- Manage technical project risks and drive project profitability within assigned budgets
Requirements
What you’ll need- For U.S.-based roles: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 6 years of experience in the relevant job family/function
- For roles outside the USA: advanced experience in Engineering/Technology and Customer Project Engineering, comparable to a Bachelor's degree or a high school diploma with relevant experience
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
- Creativity and problem-solving capability
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Motivation and ability to motivate others

- Customer interface experience
- Technical superior training with experience in project/team management preferred, in energy or transverse team management
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical codes and compliance
- Knowledge of turbomachinery, generators, electrical systems, controls, and/or power plant accessory systems and equipment
- Expertise in one discipline: Mechanical, Electrical, or Process
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
- Some travel within the US, Latin America, and globally
