About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Execute the engineering portion of OTR contracts containing Balance of Plant scope
  • Own global project control activity and drive consistent functional specifications and global project implementation processes
  • Develop scope of work and schedules, and monitor engineering activities for customer projects
  • Provide technical leadership and interface with Proposal Management, Cost Estimating, partners, customers, Product Engineering, Sourcing, and engineering subcontractors
  • Own engineering execution of BOP-scoped projects from contract signature through the end of contractual obligations
  • Manage cross-functional Engineering teams to address contract risks and opportunities
  • Provide technical guidance to Project Management and internal engineering teams
  • Review customer specifications and communicate contract and project requirements to design functions
  • Evaluate financial and schedule impacts of customer-requested scope changes
  • Provide technical support to Engineering, Sourcing, vendors, and installation teams
  • Enforce and improve quality procedures
  • Capture issues and lessons learned
  • Lead and facilitate total project solutions across product lines when assigned
  • Serve as global technical project focal point and partner with project managers for customer/EPC meetings
  • Drive requirements flow-down across GT, ST, Generator, and BOP product lines
  • Resolve technical project issues at the system level across product lines
  • Manage technical project risks and drive project profitability within assigned budgets
  • Collaborate with engineering departments, project managers, quality, sourcing, logistics, scheduling, customers, partners, EPCs, and subcontractors

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college for U.S.-based roles, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 6 years of experience in the relevant job family/function
  • For roles outside the USA, advanced experience in Engineering/Technology and Customer Project Engineering comparable to a bachelor's degree, or a high school diploma with relevant experience
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
  • Creativity and problem-solving capability
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Motivation and ability to motivate others
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Customer interface experience
  • Technical training with experience in project/team management preferred, in energy or management of transverse teams
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical codes and compliance
  • Knowledge of turbomachinery, generators, electrical systems, controls, and/or power plant accessory systems and equipment
  • Expertise in one discipline: Mechanical, Electrical, or Process
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States for this opening
  • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
