About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee small to medium-sized non-turnkey or product/equipment-only projects in the Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) domain
  • Define and track project scope, schedule, and deliverables using MS Project/Primavera
  • Coordinate design, procurement, manufacturing, and testing activities
  • Collaborate with Design, SCM, Production, QA/QC, and Dispatch teams to monitor progress and resolve issues
  • Ensure timely procurement of customer-specific bought-out items and accessories
  • Act as the single point of contact for customer interactions, including kick-off meetings, documentation approvals, inspections, and dispatches
  • Coordinate invoice submission and follow up on milestone-wise payment realization
  • Track outstanding receivables and escalate delays
  • Provide documentation and technical support to site erection and commissioning teams
  • Coordinate dispatch of accessories and site-specific material
  • Resolve erection/commissioning issues and support punch point closures and project handover
  • Identify project risks and initiate mitigation actions
  • Manage scope changes, customer amendments, and project documentation
  • Apply Contract Management principles to ensure compliance and effective usage
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and customer-specific requirements
  • Support internal and customer/third-party inspections
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation and submit regular project status reports
  • Ensure project management compliance with PMR and project closure protocols

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • B.E./B.Tech in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering (Electrical preferred)
  • 6–15 years of experience in project management in GIS or Transformer or heavy electrical equipment manufacturing
  • Experience in customer-facing roles is desirable
  • Strong leadership, planning, and coordination abilities
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Sound knowledge of Project Management Processes & Concepts
  • Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project/Primavera, ERP systems (SAP)
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
