About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead project quality activities across ITO and OTR phases
- Ensure compliance with project requirements, customer specifications, company standards, and applicable regulations
- Develop, implement, and maintain Project Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans for project execution, supplier manufacturing, and site construction
- Coordinate quality activities across customers, suppliers, subcontractors, engineering, procurement, and site teams
- Support and oversee FATs, inspections, customer visits, supplier surveillance, and project site visits
- Track project quality KPIs and manage deviations, non-conformances, customer complaints, and corrective actions through resolution
- Perform and facilitate root cause analysis and continuous improvement using 8D, DMAIC, 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto, and CAPA methodologies
- Participate in project, engineering, procurement, and risk review meetings to identify quality risks and support mitigation planning
- Plan, conduct, and support project, process, supplier, and site audits
- Validate supplier quality plans and follow up on audit findings
- Develop and deliver quality training, tools, and guidance
- Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned quality processes and equipment
- Identify, develop, and deliver documented quality deliverables to customers and suppliers from inquiry through order, remittance, closeout, and warranty
- Ensure GSI NAM’s Quality program is represented in offerings and contractual commitments are fulfilled
- Foster Quality Assurance and Quality Control across execution areas
- Drive supplier engagement, engineering quality assurance, documentation management, and lessons learned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred, or Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
- 5–10+ years of experience in project quality, quality engineering, or quality management within high-voltage substations, transmission & distribution, EPC, or large infrastructure projects
- Experience developing and executing Project Quality Plans, Inspection & Test Plans, FAT/SAT activities, supplier quality oversight, and field construction quality programs
- Strong working knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, NEC, NEMA, and ISO 9001 standards and requirements
- Experience managing non-conformances, CAPA, root cause analysis, audits, customer complaints, and continuous improvement activities
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, one-line diagrams, specifications, and technical documentation
- Technical familiarity with transformers, switchgear, control panels, prefabricated/control buildings, cabling, welding, and fabrication
- Experience with dashboards, NCR/CAPA systems, inspection and test planning, and advanced problem-solving tools
- Strong project management, communication, influence, and cross-functional coordination skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Power BI, SAP, document control systems, or similar tools
- Strong English communication skills, written and verbal
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 75%
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and around large and energized equipment
- Ability to perform physical tasks on project sites, including standing, walking, lifting, climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, stooping, and reaching
- Ability to wear required PPE, including fire-retardant clothing when required
- Preferred: experience leading quality activities on EPC projects
- Preferred: ASQ or PMI certifications such as PMP, CPSQ, CQE, or CMQ/OE
- Preferred: experience performing ISO 9001 audits and supporting project or process audit programs
- Preferred: strong data analysis and reporting capability
- Preferred: experience training, mentoring, or guiding team members
