About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide commercial support to the Sales Team to enable growth of controls product lines across the pole/region
  • Lead overall proposal development and coordinate sales, finance, engineering, product line, tax, risk, legal, and execution stakeholders
  • Work with Sales to develop competitive proposals and winning strategies
  • Lead Inquiry-to-Order proposal generation for Core and Complex Control Projects
  • Review customer tender terms and conditions, identify deviations, mitigation, and fallback language
  • Outline scope, cost, risk, and pricing strategy with commercial leaders, subject matter experts, approvers, and functional teams
  • Manage tender schedules, internal approvals, bid submission, and order-booking readiness
  • Present deals to the Commercial Review Board in accordance with ITO processes and delegation of authority
  • Participate in commercial and technical customer meetings and contract negotiations
  • Manage advance release and short-cycle processes
  • Support handover meetings with the Order-to-Remittance team to accurately depict as-sold financials and scope of supply
  • Use Salesforce.com to manage proposal risk profiles and pipeline forecasts
  • Lead communications across organizational levels and deal reviews with senior and executive leadership
  • Own the ITO commercial process and support other organizational functions
  • Lead and participate in LEAN and commercial excellence initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Engineering/Business Administration or equivalent knowledge
  • Significant experience in Power Generation business projects and tendering
  • Ability to lead customer negotiations and handle customer communication
  • Understanding of financial models and advanced-level formula driven spreadsheets
  • Willingness to travel 30%
  • Experience with contract drafting, including commercial and legal terms within a customer agreement
  • Strong knowledge of public tendering processes and regional procurement rules and regulations
  • Strong business acumen, negotiation, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functionally
  • Knowledge of SCS Control Product Lines
  • Knowledge of GE Gas Power and GE Nuclear businesses
  • Knowledge of multiyear services/maintenance agreements modeling and quoting
  • Proven leadership in project organization
  • Commercial and technical experience
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
