About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide the single point of contact for customer technical inquiries, questions, and communications for assigned projects.
  • Drive lessons learned into design engineering organizations.
  • Provide technical guidance to Project Management and Applications Engineering.
  • Conduct Customer Kick-Off Meetings and Design Liaison Meetings with customers and EPC design representatives.
  • Review contract documentation and communicate project requirements to design functions.
  • Evaluate financial and schedule impacts of customer-requested scope changes using Cost & Cycle Estimates.
  • Monitor design activity progress and resolve technical issues.
  • Monitor engineering schedules and prevent delays or late customer deliverables.
  • Monitor the engineering budget and provide quarterly Estimates at Completion to Finance.
  • Provide technical support to engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, suppliers, and installation personnel.
  • Present project reviews to upper management, highlighting risks and mitigation plans.
  • Provide technical guidance to other Project Engineers and coach new team members and interns.
  • Lead special assignments involving procedures, cost reductions, continuous improvements, new features, and forms.
  • Create and implement improved business processes and resolve systemic or recurring issues.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related discipline) from an accredited college or university.
  • Significant experience in Engineering, Design Engineering, Field Engineering and/or Project Management in a related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability and willingness to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Leadership-quality verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel less than 10%, as required.
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software preferred.
  • Demonstrated customer interface experience preferred.
  • Ability to address deep technical and delicate commercial issues.
  • Demonstrated creativity and problem-solving capability.
  • Ability to manage broad technical issue resolution and guide continuous improvement projects.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of product engineering, manufacture, assembly, installation, and/or testing preferred.
  • Continuous process improvement mindset.
  • Demonstration and adherence to the GE Vernova ways.
