About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead end-to-end installation, configuration, and commissioning of GridBeats™ software across cloud, on-premise, hybrid, and air-gapped architectures
  • Execute software upgrades, patching, and data migrations
  • Maintain backup/restore protocols and rehearsed disaster recovery plans
  • Serve as the technical escalation point for high-severity incidents
  • Analyze logs and network behavior to restore service and drive permanent resolutions with product teams
  • Prepare and manage staging and pre-production environments mirroring customer architectures
  • Validate release packages, configurations, and upgrade paths before field deployment
  • Implement proactive monitoring, logging, and alerting systems
  • Analyze system health and resource consumption to recommend preventive maintenance and capacity planning
  • Use infrastructure-as-code and deployment automation to reduce manual effort and improve field deployability
  • Author and maintain runbooks, installation guides, and troubleshooting procedures
  • Provide training and technical support to Regional Operations, service teams, and customer personnel
  • Bring field insights on deployability and supportability into product development
  • Travel to customer sites and work within planned maintenance windows
  • Support critical issues outside normal working hours

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline
  • 5–8 years of experience deploying, commissioning, and supporting complex software systems in production or customer environments across cloud (Azure/AWS) and on-premise architectures
  • 5–8 years of deep expertise in full-stack Kubernetes operations, including Helm, RBAC, and networking
  • Container/Docker proficiency, including building, inspecting, and troubleshooting runtime behavior
  • 5–8 years of experience managing critical production issues end-to-end, including triage, service restoration, root cause analysis, and corrective action under customer-facing pressure
  • 5–8 years of experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
  • Experience with networking and security configurations, including TLS, firewalls, load balancing, and VPNs
  • Scripting automation with Python and Bash
  • Ability to travel to customer sites approximately 30% of the time
  • Flexibility to support maintenance windows or critical issues outside normal business hours
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
  • Experience supporting software in industrial, substation, or utility environments
  • Familiarity with IEC 62443 standards and hardened or air-gapped systems
  • Exceptional communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience maintaining staging/pre-production environments integrated with release pipelines and artifact repositories such as Artifactory
  • Familiarity with GitOps-based delivery, including Argo CD or Flux CD, and service mesh technologies such as Istio
  • Experience with structured incident/problem management practices such as ITIL and tools like Jira or ServiceNow
  • Experience with disaster recovery architectures, database clustering, and connection pooling such as pgpool
  • Ability to interface effectively within international, multicultural, and matrixed organizations
