About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the Steam Turbine Design Engineering team, providing technical oversight for rotor and casing design
- Serve as the design lead and product owner for fossil, industrial, and nuclear steam turbine retrofits
- Provide expert conceptual designs to support active tenders for fossil and nuclear retrofits
- Deliver contract projects in accordance with design principles, contract specifications, and budgetary requirements
- Support New Product Introductions for nuclear upgrade designs, including high-pressure mixing chamber development
- Define technology and tools roadmaps to enhance customer value and engineering productivity
- Represent GE Vernova’s technical expertise and technology to customers and external stakeholders
- Mentor and develop team members to retain core technical expertise and technology ownership
- Drive innovation and simplify processes for standardized and modular products
- Ensure design rules, practices, and standards meet ITR SPS business requirements
- Manage the evolution of design standards for future market development and competitive positioning
- Drive continuous productivity improvements within the steam turbine engineering function
- Promote capture and sharing of best practices
- Deploy global standards and common processes for high-quality delivery via a lean organization
- Use KPIs to identify and implement process improvements
- Ensure compliance with the Code of Conduct and safeguard product and service intellectual property
Requirements
What you’ll need- Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills, with experience managing teams within global organizations
- Significant, hands-on experience in steam turbine design with a history of technical accountability
- Ability to interface effectively at all organizational levels and serve as a credible technical representative to customers and suppliers
- Uncompromising standards regarding safety, compliance, and ethical conduct
- Proactive, results-oriented mindset focused on driving ongoing process enhancements
- Strong oral and written communication skills
