About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead, engage, and develop a global team of approximately 12 senior engineering professionals
  • Foster a culture of ownership, systems thinking, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Coach and develop senior engineers in technical leadership, stakeholder influence, and commercial acumen
  • Build organizational capability through mentoring, succession planning, and investment in technical and leadership growth
  • Drive adoption of standard technical solutions across the Heavy Duty New Unit portfolio
  • Partner with Commercial, Regional Customer Application Engineering, Product Management, Systems Engineering, and Proposal Engineering teams to develop competitive, scalable solution strategies
  • Identify gaps between market requirements and standard offerings and recommend improvements
  • Promote standard work, Lean principles, and best practices to improve solution quality, consistency, productivity, and cycle time
  • Lead governance processes and cross-functional forums for evaluating and dispositioning solution and configuration deviations
  • Drive continuous improvement in governance effectiveness, decision quality, and cycle time
  • Leverage market trends, competitor intelligence, customer value drivers, and bid feedback to improve competitiveness and shape future solution strategies
  • Support early customer engagement and influence long-term product, standards, and application roadmaps
  • Develop and maintain tools, processes, and best practices for global solutioning activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • At least 10 years of engineering experience within the power generation, energy, or related industry
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams or technical professionals
  • Demonstrated experience influencing cross-functional stakeholders in a complex technical environment
  • Proven experience leading teams of senior engineering professionals in a global environment
  • Strong systems-thinking mindset with the ability to balance customer needs, technical risk, product strategy, and business objectives
  • Experience leading governance processes involving complex technical and commercial decision-making
  • Experience working across Commercial, Product Management, and Engineering organizations to develop competitive product or solution strategies
  • Familiarity with Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience with performance and lifecycle value analysis
  • Technical competency in gas turbine and combined-cycle performance modeling tools and methodologies
  • Knowledge of gas turbine, steam turbine, and broader plant systems
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
