About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead management of a portion of GE Vernova’s portfolio of remedial projects
  • Manage external consultants and coordinate internal stakeholders
  • Coordinate remedial project execution from initial risk review and project planning through final completion
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and budget constraints
  • Provide technical delivery, schedule management, fiscal management, reporting, and stakeholder liaison activities
  • Coordinate project team members across Environmental & Properties Risk, real estate, sourcing, special projects, strategy, finance, legal, EHS, governmental affairs, communications, operations, and facilities
  • Provide technical support for M&A, real estate, and restructuring activities
  • Assess and mitigate environmental risk in transactions and strategic initiatives
  • Provide strategic oversight, direction, progress updates, and financial updates to management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in environmental science, geology, engineering, biology, chemistry, or equivalent discipline
  • Solid proven applied experience in project management within environmental, remediation, environmental transactions and/or EHS
  • Solid proven experience managing complex remediation projects involving soil, groundwater and soil vapor issues, including PCBs, hydrocarbons, and chlorinated solvents; and/or solid proven experience providing environmental transactional support for real estate and/or M&A transactions
  • Expert familiarity with ASTM standards and Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments
  • Experience preparing/using Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments to assess risks
  • Experience coordinating environmental due diligence efforts for multiple, simultaneous, large, and/or complex transactions
  • Understanding of legal requirements, regulatory environment, environmental risk, reputational considerations, and local issues
  • Ability to provide strategic oversight, direction, planning, progress, and financial updates to management
  • Ability to manage and coordinate consultant teams to generate project cost estimates, scopes of work, proposals, and reports
  • Experience preparing financial estimations and planning for long-term projects
  • Familiarity with environmental issues related to historical and current manufacturing and energy operations
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills within diverse teams
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly
  • Demonstrated success coordinating technical, financial, reputational, and legal considerations for complex projects
  • Strong technical and analytical aptitude
  • Experience working with sensitive and confidential information
  • Experience working cross-culturally in large, matrixed organizations
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally, approximately 30%
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • English proficiency and business fluency in Spanish or Portuguese
  • Graduate degree in an environmental, technical, business, or related discipline is preferred as a standout qualification
  • Demonstrated project management skills including initiation, scoping, resourcing, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and communication
  • Familiarity with LEAN principles
