About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide wind turbine system expertise through requirements definition, design and development, validation, and product life-cycle support
- Lead technical program teams on system trade-offs and optimizations, focusing on reducing landed cost of electricity
- Own turbine-level requirements in Systems Design Memos
- Contribute to and approve subsystem requirements in Design Memos
- Own and drive technical program team risk management, including Systems DFMEA ownership
- Contribute to multi-generation system and technology plans with all subsystems
- Develop design platforming strategies
- Contribute to and approve customer-facing technical documents
- Analyze, prepare, and present technical material to internal and external audiences
- Drive simplification and standardization of engineering analysis, validation, and design execution best practices
- Contribute to new and existing design practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of 5 years of significant experience in Engineering/Technology
- Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience working on wind turbine system-related projects
- Ability to break down complex issues and determine possible courses of action
- System- or product-level mindset
- Conceptual design and/or system-level trade-off experience
- Field issues, testing and/or validation experience
- Requirements definition, decomposition, and/or translation experience
- Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Minimum of 5 years of wind turbine engineering experience
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
