About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as first and primary customer contact for assigned projects
- Lead customer engagement, negotiations, and issue resolution
- Manage and align internal and external stakeholders, including customers, partners, contractors, and vendors
- Own end-to-end execution of mega, complex, non-turnkey, and product/equipment-only projects, along with less complex combined cycle projects
- Develop early execution strategies with the ITO Commercial Manager
- Ensure successful transition into project execution
- Coordinate contract reviews for alignment on requirements, scope, and obligations
- Manage project execution using a Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost lens
- Provide the framework for self and others to engage at Gemba
- Maintain full P&L accountability, including revenue, contribution margin, and cash
- Drive accountability for key project performance metrics
- Align teams on trade-offs between cost, schedule, performance, and risk
- Develop and manage the risk register and mitigation actions
- Promote and drive GE Vernova’s Safety Toolkit among project teams, partners, and subcontractors
- Use internal and external inputs for risk-based decision-making
- Develop expertise in project execution and/or a technical discipline
- Drive best practices to improve products, processes, or services
- Lead teams in developing solutions within complex manufacturing, engineering, or production environments
- Apply operational, engineering, and product management techniques across interdependent workstreams
- Collaborate with partnering functions to resolve cross-functional issues and execution constraints
- Provide direct or indirect leadership of project teams and resources
- Support Functional Project Managers with escalations
- Present project, business, or technical solutions to senior leadership
- Influence without authority in a matrix organization to drive unified execution
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
- Minimum 6 years of Project Management experience within Energy, Construction, or large capital project environments
- Must be willing to travel up to 40% of time
- Experience and demonstrated understanding of large capital project execution costs and estimates
- Certified Project Management Professional
- Graduate of the Field Engineer or Project Management Leadership Program
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple phased projects simultaneously and independently
- Demonstrated strong customer focus and ability to foster strong relationships
- Experience working with and influencing senior level leaders
- Demonstrated strategic thinking, problem solving, business and financial acumen
- Demonstrated presentation skills and ability to succinctly communicate complex messages
- Inclusive style and strong interpersonal and leadership skills at all levels
- Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions, manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment, and interface effectively at all organizational levels
- Experience applying data and lean tools and technologies for strategic, operational, and project efficiencies
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
