About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the execution of complex projects within the Grid Automation solutions domain
- Align project goals with overall business objectives
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources
- Ensure safety and quality throughout the execution cycle
- Collaborate with clients, vendors, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
- Communicate clearly and manage expectations throughout project lifecycles
- Build customer intimacy and ensure customer satisfaction
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, and resource allocations
- Use planning and scheduling tools to monitor progress and manage the critical path
- Partner with Engineering and Services to optimize project resources
- Develop work breakdown structures and monitor Earned Value/Budgeted Cost of Work Performed
- Define savings strategies and maximize variation orders
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks
- Implement contingency plans
- Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and regulatory requirements
- Conduct project execution reviews and audits
- Prepare and present status reports to senior management and stakeholders
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation
- Execute and deliver complex Grid Automation projects involving protection relays, bay controller units, auxiliary relays, telecom equipment, and application servers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management within the energy or Grid Automation sector
- Proven experience managing complex, multi-faceted projects
- Experience with protection relays, bay controller units, auxiliary relays, and telecom equipment highly desirable
- PMP or equivalent certification preferred
- Additional certifications in Grid Automation or related technologies are a plus
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in project management tools and software such as MS Project and Jira
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to travel to customer sites and offices as required by the project plan, around 20%
- Deep understanding of Grid Automation solutions and industry standards
- Experience with telecom equipment and network infrastructure
- Knowledge of automation algorithms and human-machine interfaces
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
