About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop a Risk Management Plan for large-scale Advanced Nuclear Small Modular Reactor EPC projects
  • Lead risk management activities throughout the project life cycle
  • Lead and manage risk and opportunity identification, discussion, mitigation actions, follow-up, and problem solving
  • Drive daily risk management routines, operational risk reviews, performance tracking, and structured problem solving for bottlenecks
  • Perform detailed data analysis, operational reviews, and senior leadership communication
  • Work with Project Management, PMO, functional teams, and stakeholders to align and deliver risk management priorities
  • Serve as the expert and primary Risk Management point of contact within the project team
  • Benchmark internal and external risk management best practices
  • Refine and improve processes, KPIs, and communication rhythms

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science from an accredited university or college
  • Proficient in industry-standard planning and quantitative risk analysis tools involving Monte Carlo simulations, such as P6, SAFRAN, or equivalent
  • At least 8–10 years of relevant work experience in nuclear industry engineering/operations, planning, project controls, project management, risk management, construction management, contracts management, or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of risk management or project controls experience
  • Solid understanding of power project life cycles, project risk management principles, and relevant technical, financial, and contract terms
  • Ability to handle many complex issues/projects concurrently
  • Willingness and ability to travel globally 20% of the time
  • Demonstrated leadership in a matrix environment
  • Strong execution discipline and consistent follow-through
  • P6 and Microsoft Suite proficiency
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to thrive in high-demand, detail-oriented, multi-priority environments
  • Strategic thinking and track record developing innovative solutions to difficult business problems
  • Project controls management, contract management, or risk management experience
  • Project/construction management experience in the power industry
  • Structured, hands-on problem-solving skills focused on root cause and sustainable outcomes
  • Technical knowledge of commercial nuclear reactors and associated systems
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada
  • Successful completion of a background investigation
  • Citizenship eligibility under applicable U.S. Department of Energy export control requirements, unless specifically authorized or otherwise exempt
