About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Generate actionable intelligence and create/test signatures, queries, and analytics to detect threat activity
  • Use TTP-based threat intelligence, threat actor artifacts, and behaviors aligned to Lockheed Cyber KillChain and MITRE ATT&CK
  • Engage in active threat intelligence collection and processing
  • Maintain current threat intelligence database content and context
  • Ensure threat intelligence is deployed across the technology stack
  • Provide intelligence support for CIRT, Data Protection, and Product teams
  • Produce timely alerts and briefings on threat activity
  • Support incident detection and response activities as needed
  • Promote engagement, execution, and accountability across the team
  • Champion continual improvement and automate repetitive tasks
  • Communicate with the immediate team and GE leadership
  • Ensure the team receives consistent messages and understands business direction, strategy, and results

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or STEM majors, or equivalent
  • 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity and threat intelligence disciplines, or equivalent knowledge or experience
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as Splunk or other SIEM products
  • Detailed understanding of APT, cyber crime, and associated cyber threat tactics
  • Experience in Network Security Monitoring practices and hands-on experience with NSM technologies such as Suricata, Snort, or Zeek
  • Experience with host-based detection and incident response technologies such as CrowdStrike, Carbon Black, Tanium, or Windows Defender ATP
  • Experience working with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or SaaS
  • Familiarity with scripting/programming; Python and Jupyter preferred
  • Familiarity with CND-based analytical models such as Kill Chain, Pyramid of Pain, and ATT&CK
  • Ability to set and manage expectations with stakeholders and team members
  • Ability to prioritize and execute with minimal direction or oversight
  • Exceptional critical thinking, writing, and presentation skills
  • Proven track record managing and executing short-term and long-term projects
  • Ability to establish rapport with executive management and deeply technical roles
  • CISSP, CISM, or related SANS certifications, or relevant technical experience preferred
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
