About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform daily turbine operations, safety activities, quality control, and warranty repairs
  • Execute contractual obligations and customer requirements involving electrical and mechanical equipment in GE wind turbine generators
  • Apply knowledge of variable-pitch and variable-speed turbines and converter parts
  • Read, understand, and explain schematics, drawings, technical manuals, procedures, and regulations
  • Adhere to Environmental Health and Safety processes, regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable-pitch and variable-speed turbines
  • Support all areas of site operations with minimal supervision while observing safety requirements
  • Perform diagnostic analysis and develop plans for timely resolution
  • Document work using computer-based service reporting procedures
  • Work with GE's remote operations center when necessary
  • Mentor peers
  • Partner and communicate with the Site Lead and Manager to meet contract requirements and timelines

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to pass a Technical Knowledge Assessment
  • Either 4+ years of wind troubleshooting experience plus 1+ year in an EHS, SQC, or Lead role, or 5+ years of wind troubleshooting experience
  • Basic computer skills
  • Valid driver's license, maintained throughout employment
  • Willingness to travel up to 100% of the time within the Oklahoma Hub 2 wind sites
  • Ability to handle repetitive 50-pound weight and climb towers up to 300 feet daily
  • Must meet and maintain manufacturer weight limits not exceeding 300 pounds including required gear
  • Ability and willingness to work in industrial, manufacturing, and power industry environments
  • Ability to prioritize work according to contract obligations
  • Ability and willingness to take initiative and work without direct supervision
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts and on-call schedules
  • Occasional overnight work may be required
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
