About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the execution of complex projects within the Grid Automation solutions domain, primarily focused on CIC, P&C, and M&D
- Align project goals with overall business objectives
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources
- Ensure safety and quality throughout project execution
- Collaborate with clients, vendors, and cross-functional internal teams
- Communicate clearly and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle
- Build customer intimacy and ensure customer satisfaction
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, and resource allocations
- Use planning and scheduling tools to monitor progress, manage the critical path, and deliver projects on time
- Partner with Engineering and Services to optimize project resources
- Control project budgets using work breakdown structures and Earned Value (EV/BCWP)
- Define savings strategies and maximize variation orders during execution
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks
- Implement contingency plans for unforeseen challenges
- Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and regulatory requirements
- Conduct regular project reviews and audits
- Prepare and present status reports to senior management and stakeholders
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation
- Manage projects through initiation, planning, engineering coordination, material and resource planning, field execution, customer acceptance, financial management, and closeout
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management within the energy or Grid Automation sector
- Proven experience in managing complex, multi-faceted projects
- Experience with protection relays, bay controller units, auxiliary relays, and telecom equipment is highly desirable
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification preferred
- Additional certifications in Grid Automation or related technologies are a plus
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Jira)
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to travel to customer sites and offices as required by the project plan (around 20%)
- Deep understanding of Grid Automation solutions and industry standards
- Experience with telecom equipment and network infrastructure
- Knowledge of automation algorithms and human-machine interfaces
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
