Site Assessment, Preparation Specialist

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical support to customers regarding sites, turbines, cranes, transport, and installation
- Assist site teams in launching transportation, crane, and installation activities through handover until the first unit is installed
- Assist customers and project managers with transportation, crane, and site issues
- Communicate transportation requirements from site execution strategies to the logistics team
- Develop and continuously update site road and crane pad specifications
- Identify and assess ports for importing wind turbine components and transportation routes to project sites
- Advise on crane and transport requirements
- Participate in selecting new crane suppliers
- Assist customers in coordinating public-road work with civil authorities
- Provide data for sales budgets, project budgets, and project schedules
- Prepare site reports identifying work-scope splits for final contracts
- Collect and distribute country-specific transportation, crane, turbine, and site information, including laws and regulations
- Attend project, customer kick-off, site, and progress meetings through first-unit installation
- Work with partner companies on logistics and site-pad requirements for extended-scope projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Formal education and subsequent bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field, alternatively, a high school diploma or GED with relevant experience in a technical or electrical sector is equally considered
- Experience with cranes, heavy lifting, and oversized cargo transportation
- Hands-on site and field experience preferred
- Significant experience in a Wind or Logistics field environment
- Experience working directly with customers in a technical context
- Strong analytical skills applied to technical tasks and processes
- Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
- Preferably proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS-based mapping tools
- Fluent English language skills, both verbal and written
- Willingness to travel approximately 75% of the time
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Sound judgment and flexibility in adapting solutions to complex site and logistics challenges
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to serve as a technical resource or mentor
- French proficiency required
- German and/or Spanish is a plus
