About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee the full project execution cycle on site
  • Coordinate civil engineering works, mechanical erection, and commissioning
  • Lead all site activities and the on-site team, with the potential to manage multiple sites
  • Supervise work execution in accordance with the project scope
  • Manage resources, staffing, schedules, costs, quality, and stakeholder expectations
  • Act under the direction of and on behalf of the Global Project Manager
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, company policies, and local regulations
  • Lead departmental operations and provide technical and analytical expertise
  • Serve as a resource for less experienced colleagues and lead small, low-risk projects
  • Communicate performance expectations, build consensus, and manage sensitive situations
  • Meet health, safety and environmental, quality, delivery, material availability, and customer satisfaction objectives
  • Report quality issues and non-conformities and ensure compliance with the site quality plan

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college plus 5 years of relevant experience, OR high school diploma or GED equivalent plus more than 10 years of experience in the hydroelectric power or power generation industry in supervisory roles
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 90% of the time
  • Strict adherence to the site HSE/EHS plan and safety procedures
  • Experience serving as a Site Manager on other hydroelectric construction sites in the United States
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and empower personnel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform specialized technical tasks, including shaft-line alignment, bearing setting, precision mechanical tooling, measurement, and on-site machining
  • Ability to read and understand manuals, technical drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Skills in documentation, planning, marketing, and program execution
  • Demonstrated project management skills
